So a couple of days ago, Ethan was being really secretive. He got out a piece of paper and a crayon. He was working on something, but he wouldn't let me see. I figured he was making me a get well soon card because I had been sick for a couple of days, and Ethan is known for doing that. When he was finished, he folded it up and taped the paper shut. I asked him what it was but he didn't want to tell me. So, jokingly, I said "Is it for your girlfriend?" I only said this to tease because he has always said that he doesn't like girls. But instead of getting mad and saying no, he said yes. He said it was for Caitlyn in his class, and she told him that she loves him too. I asked him if I could read it and he let me.

(in case you cant understand first grade spelling, it says : I love you Caitlyn, you are my only girl. I want to get married. I love you. You love me too. Love Ethan)
I know this is cute and innocent and all, but it makes me realize what I am going to have to deal with in a few years. Why can't boys just love their mommies forever?
